To say that a hospital is needed in Zorangé would be a grave understatement. Right now in Zorangé, cuts, scrapes and wounds of all sorts are becoming infected. By the time we get back there, we will most likely see more cases of gangrene, scabies, rashes, sores, open wounds, malnutrition and other various medical conditions that we have witnessed there in the past. With a clinic set up in the school all year round these cases can be brought to a minimum. They will be able to go to a nurse or a doctor instead of a witch doctor. But that is just the beginning of our solution to the health problems in Haiti. Even if the people come to the clinic, they may need the proper treatment only a hospital can give them. We have seen it in the past. We have offered transportation and funding to people who seriously need to go to a hospital, which is many miles away.
The current clinic is located at least 11 miles away from Zorangé. On foot, by withered horse, or burdened donkey, if someone who falls ill were to make the trip to the clinic, there is no guarantee that a nurse or a doctor will be there to provide medical attention. So we have to make a change! We at Hope for Haiti Foundation are planning to build a hospital in Zorangé to provide comprehensive care to the community and beyond. We understand the difficulty in tackling such a project, but we must and we will. We believe that we will continue to meet new partners as we've had in the past. Partners who will continue to help us with this project. Financially we can't bear the burden alone. We need your help. Together we can make this dream a reality.
